My cat doesn't understand personal boundaries.
This is what I wake up to daily. and usually about 3:30 when she's ready to play. There have been times I wake up in the night feeling like Drew Barrymore in "Cat's Eye", but it's the cat sucking the breath from me. If I turn my head, she moves to that side. I sleep with half my body off the bed, just so she can't slither in beside me.

We just watched Cat's Eye a couple of weeks ago and I was so impressed with the "acting" by the cat. I bet THAT cat wouldn't stare you down in bed.
